Vote for Ames Tribune female Athlete of the Week for April 26-May 2

The week of April 26-May 2 was full of female high school spring sports action featuring teams and athletes from the Ames area. Gilbert and Collins-Maxwell both hosted co-ed track meets during the week. Area girls golf teams were active during the week, and area girls soccer games featured Class 3A No.

14 Ames blanking Des Moines Lincoln (2-0) and Hoover (11-0) and 2A No. 11 Gilbert scoring a 5-0 rivalry win over Nevada. Several female athletes from the Ames area stood out during the week.

Raya Mueller, Gilbert Mueller scored multiple goals in two games for the Class 2A No. 11 Gilbert girls soccer team during the week. Mueller netted two goals during the Tigers' 5-0 win over rival Nevada on April 30 at Gilbert.
