Inter Milan president responds to Barcelona interest in Bastoni – ‘He wants to stay’ It is no secret at this point that FC Barcelona are pursuing the signing of Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni heading into the summer transfer window. The Blaugrana have made the 27-year-old Italian international as their priority target to strengthen the centre-back position before next season. Talks are about to take place between the La Liga leaders and the newly-crowned Serie A champions soon about a potential transfer.
Inter Milan president breaks silence Now, speaking to the media, Inter Milan president Giuseppe Marotta has addressed the rumours of interest from Barcelona in acquiring Bastoni. Starting off, the Nerazzurri chief was full of praise for the defender, while also acknowledging the mistake he had made recently. “He’s a talented player.
He’s been unlucky in certain incidents; he was the one who made that naive mistake of simulation in the Inter-Juve match. He was the first to realise it,” Marotta said, as quoted by GianlucaDiMarzio. com .

” Interestingly, though, Marotta claimed that Inter Milan intend to keep hold of Bastoni while also stating that the player himself wanted to stay put at the club. “At the moment, Bastoni is our player; he wants to stay and we’re happy to keep him with us,” he concluded. This comes after Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio also insisted that the club wanted to keep hold of Bastoni beyond the summer.
