Walk-off hits and big plays: Vote for the Athlete of the Week in Pueblo
The spring sports season is nearing the end of the season, and some athletes are getting ready for postseason action. This past vote, Jordan Arguello of the Pueblo Central baseball team took home the Week 5 fan vote with over 65% of the votes. Each week, the Chieftain recognizes the top student-athletes from area schools to highlight those who have performed at a high level.
The Chieftain sports staff selects them. Coaches can nominate players by emailing cabdelmalek@gannett. com before Thursday night.
Pueblo Chieftain readers can now vote for their favorite high school athletes at the newspaper's website, chieftain. com. The poll is located at the bottom of the article and closes at midnight on Friday.
Each week, the winner will advance to the season's final vote. (Please note, once an athlete wins a weekly vote, they will not be eligible to win again until the Spring Athlete of the Season vote. ) There are no voting restrictions, so vote now and vote often.
This poll will close at midnight on Friday, May 8. Here are the Athletes of the Week for April 24-30. More: South-Central League baseball schedule is heating up as postseason nears Mason Elson, Pueblo West, lacrosse Elson helped the Cyclones pick up a win against Thomas Jefferson, 15-1.
