Why Pistons fans trolled Magic with 'Angel Reese' chant
Here's why "Angel Reese" became a chant during Pistons-Magic Game 7.
The Detroit Pistons are moving on to the second round of the NBA playoffs after drubbing the Orlando Magic 116-94 in Sunday's Game 7. Some keen-eared fans, however, might have noticed an interesting chant during the waning moments of the game evoking WNBA player Angel Reese. Reese, who is getting ready for the upcoming WNBA season with the Atlanta Dream after the recent shocking trade that moved her out of Chicago , is currently dating Wendell Carter Jr.
of the Magic. Earlier in the Magic-Pistons series, it looked as if Reese threw shade in an Instagram Story at Detroit center Jalen Duren , who according to rumors, she had dated before Carter. Pistons fans clearly didn't take kindly to the rib, as during Game 7 when things were well in hand in Detroit, fans in the arena started chanting "Angel Reese" at the Magic as a final sendoff to Carter and Orlando.
