Yankees option Anthony Volpe to minors

The Yankees have optioned Anthony Volpe to the minors.

The Yankees have officially reached a decision on Anthony Volpe . New York optioned the shortstop to Triple-A Scranton upon his activation from the IL on Sunday. Sunday, of course, marked the 20th and final day on Volpe's minor league rehab assignment which is what led to the club having to make the difficult decision.
