Are Michael Malone and the North Carolina Tar Heels eyeing another international prospect?

The North Carolina Tar Heels are clearly targeting the international path in terms of prospects to add to the roster, not only this year but for the future. With Michael Malone's international experience, rosters moving forward could feature multiple players from overseas. As UNC continues to put its footprint internationally, there's a new target to keep an eye on.

TarHeel247's David Sisk wrote on Nikola Kusturica, a 16-year-old prospect over in Spain who also plays on FC Barcelona. With Malone and Chuck Martin scouting the team overseas recently , they were able to see Kusturica up close and personal for the first time. The 6-foot-9 guard is gaining more and more attention as the games go on and is considered one of the top overall international prospects: One of the top international prospects in the world, Kusturica is an extremely talented big guard/wing who can handle the rock, make plays off the bounce and has an elite physical profile.

Has great size and length for the position and instantly passes the eye test. Can score from inside and out and is really good at getting into the lane, using a combination of great handles, a quick first step and great size to cover ground quickly. Is a high feel player who has some point guard instincts.

He's currently part of the 2028 class, and who knows what the future holds for him. However, it's important that Sisk noted him and that UNC is getting an early look.
