Former Guardian Aaron Civale and Parker Messick faced off in Sacramento today as the Guardians were looking to sweep the Athletics.
Civale held the Guardians down. Going into the fifth inning, Civale held Cleveland to 6 baserunners without a single run scored. Quite the difference from the previous two games.
It wasn’t until the top of the fifth that Chase DeLauter got the Guards on the board with a game tying solo shot to left field. Your browser does not support the video tag. Parker Messick had a great start himself.
Going into today’s game Messick had only allowed one home run. In the bottom of the second, Messick allowed his second home run, a solo HR to Colby Thomas. For the most part, Messick was dealing as usual.
