Brazil thrash Ecuador, stay unbeaten at Women's South American U17 The Brazil Women’s U-17 National Team beat Ecuador 4-0 on Sunday afternoon (3) in a match played at Estádio Ameliano Villeta, in Paraguay. The goals came from Gigi, Marcela, Mari Martins, and an own goal. The match brought the South American Championship group stage to a close.
Brazil had already taken the field qualified for the semifinal, but still maintained its attacking identity. With the result, the team coached by Rilany Silva remained the only one in the competition with a 100% record. Brazil now awaits the results of the Group A matches to find out its opponent in the semifinal, as well as the time and venue of the match, to be confirmed by Conmebol.
The semifinal clashes will take place on Wednesday (6). The Brazilian National Team’s next objective is to secure a place in the final and, automatically, punch its ticket to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. In the 15th minute, Kotait received the ball near the touchline, drove toward the box, and struck it hard. The ball deflected off the Ecuadorian defense and ended up in the back of the net. Right after that, Gamonal lost the ball inside the box, but regained possession moments later and got a shot away.
