Leaders Kings lose second successive match in IPL
[Reuters] Indian Premier League leaders Punjab Kings suffered a second successive defeat, losing by four wickets to Gujarat Titans. Chasing 164, Sai Sudharsan scored 57 from the top of the order for Titans, while Washington Sundar hit an unbeaten 40 as his side reached their target with one ball to spare. Kings slipped to 47-5 having been put into bat, before Suryansh Shedge (57) and Marcus Stoinis (40) put on 79 for the sixth wicket to offer their side some hope.
Jason Holder starred with the ball for the Titans, finishing with figures of 4-24, while fellow seamers Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj also took two wickets each as Kings finished on 163-9. Titans lost Sudharsan in the 15th over when they needed 40 runs for victory, and while they lost two further wickets, Washington saw his side home, finishing the match with a six. The victory means fifth-placed Titans join three other teams on 12 points, while Kings remain top with 13.
