NFL legend says 1 Steelers rookie could be 'steal of the draft'
One Hall of Fame NFL quarterback believes Pittsburgh Steelers rookie Drew Allar could be "the steal of the draft."
An NFL legend believes one of the Pittsburgh Steelers ' 10 selections in the 2026 NFL Draft could become the biggest steal of the event. In an episode of Kurt's QB Insider, Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner explained what he loved about Steelers rookie third-round quarterback Drew Allar, lauding him as potentially "the steal of the draft. " โThe talent jumps off the screen when you watch this guy throw," Warner said about Allar.
"It is effortless for him to push the ball down the field. One of the questions always with big-armed quarterbacks is, can they control that big arm and become consistently accurate as a thrower? If so, this guy could be the steal of the draft and could become the best quarterback in this class.
But that is a big if, and I can't wait to see how it plays out in April. " Allar, who was selected by the Steelers with the 76th overall pick in the third round of the draft, has elite intangibles and ridiculous upside based on his physical traits alone. If there's anyone who could unlock Allar's potential at the next level and help him reach the level Warner referenced, it would be new Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy, one of the league's top quarterback developers.
