NBC decided to include Fanta as part of their coverage of the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, which was an interesting plot twist for fans who weren't expecting him there.

โ€œWeโ€™re excited to have John join our coverage at Churchill Downs, where his unbridled enthusiasm and effusive personality will be a perfect match with the spectators enjoying the racing and revelry from the infield,โ€ said NBC Sports supervising producer Lindsay Schanzer. Fanta brought energy that appeared to be well-received by viewers . He expressed excitement about being selected for Kentucky Derby coverage when it was announced by the network.

โ€œThere is simply nothing like the Kentucky Derby, and to join a team of horse racing legends and Emmy winners in NBCโ€™s 26th presentation of an event that stands in a class of its own is thrilling and humbling,โ€ Fanta said per NBC Sports . Fanta might become a mainstay down the stretch of NBC's Derby coverage for the foreseeable future. Contact/Follow @College_Wire on X and @College_Wires on Threads.
