Texas A&M vs. Auburn: Game 3 live updates, score, highlights
Follow along with live coverage of Texas A&M baseball's series finale against the Auburn Tigers on Sunday afternoon.
Texas A&M baseball will conclude its series against Auburn on Sunday, as the Aggies aim to avoid a sweep against the Tigers at Blue Bell Park in Bryan-College Station. The stormy weather forced the series opener to be postponed, creating a doubleheader between two of the Southeastern Conference 's most powerful lineups on Saturday afternoon. Auburn dominated Game 1, notching 19 total hits, including three home runs, for a statement 18-5 run-rule victory over Texas A&M.
The second game of the doubleheader was a different story, as the Aggies were more competitive and had ample opportunity to even the series and force a rubber match. Outfielder Caden Sorrell's 44th career homer, a two-run triple from Travis Chestnut and an RBI double from Bear Harrison put the Aggies down just 5-4 entering the final two innings, but it wasn't enough to overcome another solid outing from Auburn 's pitching staff, as Jake Marciano and Jackson Sanders combined for 11 total strikeouts and allowed just six hits through nine innings to hand Texas A&M its first series loss since March 21 against the Georgia Bulldogs . Following the series loss, Earley announced right-hander Weston Moss will start on the bump for the Maroon and White in Game 3.
Moss boasts an 8-2 record, 5. 64 ERA and 42 strikeouts through 44. 2 innings pitched.
The Tigers will also pitch a right-hander for the finale, as Alex Petrovic, who has a 7-1 record and 2. 83 ERA through 60. 1 innings pitched, will start against the Aggie lineup.
