Neemias Queta takes ownership of fouls in Boston Celtics series loss to Philadelphia 76ers

One of the more notable issues the Boston Celtics dealt with in their doomed 2026 NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs first round series with the Philadelphia 76ers this year was the high rate of fouls coming from their big men. And Neemias Queta in particular stood out as one of the team's more egregious players to pick up silly personal fouls at inopportune moments of the game. To be fair, Queta was facing one of the best at drawing such fouls in the league in Sixers big man Joel Embiid.

But it did not go unnoticed by the Portuguese center that his fouling rates in postseason play will be an area of his game he needs to work on. "Over the over the series, we've seen a lot of different different calls on the fouls," suggested Queta, hinting at a dissatisfaction of how each contest was called by the officials. Still, even taking into account that referees call each contest differently based on the crew at hand, that did not explain away some of the Lisbon native's worst fouls.

"Obviously, (it) starts with me being better," said Queta. "But (it's) just the nature of the job as a center. You're in a lot of different positions where you can get fouls, whether it's ball screens, whether it's box outs, whether it's just one-on-one defense, being able to being able to protect the rim as well.

" "So a lot of different things that can get you into foul trouble. And like I said, I've got to start looking at myself and be better, first first and foremost, and then after that it's just being consistent in that. I've had shown flashes of where I can be without fouling and ...

, it's just about being consistent when I can do that to do that. " Listen to "Havlicek Stole the Pod" on: Blue Wire: https://tiny. ee/CdKp iTunes: https://tiny.
