Jannik Sinner stormed past Alexander Zverev in Madrid on Sunday to become the first player to win five consecutive ATP Masters titles. The world number one overwhelmed Zverev in a 6-1, 6-2 triumph. The Italian has dropped just two sets across his five title runs and didn't face a break point en route to his ninth consecutive win against the German.

"I think there is a lot of work behind it. A lot of dedication and sacrifice I put in every day. Obviously, it means a lot to me, seeing these results," Sinner said after the match.

"I'm very happy that I've continued to believe in myself. I'm showing up every day, at every practice session, trying to put in the right work with the right discipline. To do so, you need to have the right team behind you, which I have.

" The Masters 1000 tournaments sit below the Grand Slam tournaments and the year-end championships. Sinner has now won eight of the nine Masters competitions. The only one missing is the Italian Open on home soil.

He will have the chance to win it in a few days as the 2026 edition starts on May 6.
