Jesse Minter talks adjusting to head coach role, overseeing all phases
Jesse Minter, transitioning to head coach, shares his new perspective and joy in overseeing all three phases at rookie minicamp.
Minter Sets the Tone Early at Rookie Minicamp There's a different perspective when you go from coordinating a defense to running the entire team—and Jesse Minter is already leaning into that shift. Just two days into rookie minicamp, Minter talked about what's stood out most as he adjusts to overseeing all three phases—and it starts with how he views each rep. When asked about that transition, Minter pointed to the freedom that comes with seeing the full picture.
“I think the best part is no matter what happens on the play, you can be happy and excited. So, that's probably been the coolest thing through the two days. Whether it's a good play by the defense or the offense, man, it's all good for me.
So, I try to certainly have my hands in the defense, but at the same time, make sure that the offense knows what I'm trying to be about, what we're trying to be about. I think I have to set an example of that by how I operate out here. So, I am just trying to be present with all three phases and go from there.
But two days in, [it’s been a] good start. ” It's early, but the tone is already being set. This article originally appeared on Ravens Wire: Jesse Minter is enjoying the shift to a full team leadership role
