The 84-year-old was at the stadium in a watching capacity when he began to feel unwell shortly before kick-off. Ferguson remains a regular presence at Old Trafford, continuing to attend matches of the club he managed for over two decades. During his time in charge between 1986 and 2013, he transformed Manchester United into one of the dominant forces in world football, winning 13 league titles and two Champions League trophies among a host of other honours.
This is not the first health issue the Scot has faced, having previously been hospitalised in 2018 after suffering a brain haemorrhage, from which he recovered following surgery. At this stage, it is understood the latest incident is not connected to his previous condition, and club sources are hopeful he will be back home soon.
