The Vanderbilt quarterback went undrafted through seven rounds of the NFL Draft. He didn't initially get an undrafted free agent contract, either. He had to settle for a rookie minicamp invite from Baltimore, which soon turned into a more official undrafted contract.
Pavia is short, and his arm talent isn't immense, and he had off-field concerns. But he also turned around a college football program at Vandy that seemed like it would never be competitive. And he did it with swagger and playmaking that were hard to match.
All that to say: Pavia earned an opportunity. That's a piece of the message the Ravens' new head coach, Jesse Minter, had for him. โSo now heโs in the door, and itโs like, โShow us what you can do,โโ Minter told reporters on Saturday, via ESPN .
