Two Tar Heels earn induction into NC Sports Hall of Fame

•Yahoo Sports

Tyler Hansbrough and Eddie Pope are UNC legends. Both Tar Heels earned induction into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday.

When you think of the greatest basketball players to come through Chapel Hill, Tyler Hansbrough should be atop your list. When you think of the greatest men's soccer players to come through Chapel Hill, Eddie Pope should also be up there. Saturday night was a special moment for both Tar Heels, who earned induction into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame.

Michael Jordan is the GOAT, but Psycho T is the best collegiate player to come through Chapel Hill . Hansbrough earned First Team All-ACC four times, ACC Rookie of the Year honors in 2006, ACC Player of the Year honors in 2008 and National Player of the Year Honors in 2009. Averaging 20.

2 points per game across his four seasons at UNC , Hansbrough anchored the program's 2009 National Championship run , leaving his storied collegiate career as the program's all-time leading scorer. Hansbrough played seven NBA seasons, starting with the Indiana Pacers and ending with the Charlotte Hornets, before ending his pro playing career overseas. Congratulations to @EddiePope23 and @THANS50 on being inducted into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame.
