It wasn't in the plans when they got him from the Toronto Blue Jays , but injuries forced their hand, at least temporarily. On Sunday, they brought up a new shortstop to at least help in lieu of all the absences. Francisco Lindor has already been missing.
The latest injury is to Ronny Mauricio. They've called up Vidal Brujan from Triple-A Syracuse. Vidal Brujan will join the Mets from Syracuse, per source, to give the team another shortstop option with Ronny Mauricio headed to the IL.
