Good Morning San Diego: Padres in danger of being swept after loss to White Sox

Haffey/Getty Images) | Getty Images If you wanted to know how the San Diego Padres were doing the season, just watch the ninth inning of their 4-0 loss to the Chicago White Sox at Petco Park on Saturday night.

The good news was Jeremiah Estrada returned from his stint on the IL. The right-hander made quick work of the three White Sox hitters he faced. Estrada, who saw a dip in his velocity to start the season, looked as good.

He struck out all three batters he faced and his velocity was back up to 98 mph. The negative is that the Padres loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth inning with no outs. San Diego could not capitalize and the feeling that something big was about to happen faded as Gavin Sheets struck out on an ABS challenge, Miguel Andujar flied out to right field and Luis Campusano struck out to end the threat and the game.

To be fair the Padres offense was bad throughout the game and not just the bottom of the ninth. San Diego had four batters account for six hits in the game. Two of those players, Jackson Merrill and Andujar accounted for four of the six hits.
