is in a funk at the plate. The New York Yankees ' second baseman hasn't found his way to power very often so far, and it doesn't seem to be a fluke. The underlying numbers for Chisholm certainly match the fact that he isn't leaving the ballpark with the long ball very much.
"Chisholm has gone deep just three times in 31 games -- including a 23-game drought to open the campaign -- recording the fifth-largest drop in barrel rate (-8. 4 points) and the third-largest drop in expected SLG (-. 151) of any qualifying hitter," MLB.
com's Thomas Harrigan wrote in a new article this weekend . This comes, of course, after Chisholm set some massive goals for himself this season. "A free agent at the end of 2026, Chisholm said this past offseason that he was aiming for a 50-50 season, something only Shohei Ohtani has done," Harrigan wrote.
