London City Lionesses out for revenge against Spurs says Maestre London City Lionesses head coach Eder Maestre says that his side will be out for revenge when they travel to Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon. The Pride face The Lilywhites at the BetWright Stadium in their latest Barclays Women’s Super League match. When speaking to the media ahead of the match, Maestre said that revenge is on the agenda following London City Lionesses’ Adobe Women’s FA Cup defeat to Spurs back in February.

“I hope we can have a good game against them and get revenge,” Maestre said. “It was really painful how we conceded the penalty then lost in the shootout. “Tottenham are a very good team with very talented players.

They are maybe one of the best teams in the build-up, so they are very clinical in the way that they move the ball in the first part of the pitch. They have very flexible positioning, so we have to be very aware in our out of possession work to stay alert of every situation that they try to create. “We have to be very aware of the way that they expose the pitch, exploit the gaps and change the shape of the opponent.

” London City Lionesses thumped Leicester City 5-1 last weekend and Maestre was delighted to see five different players get their names on the scoresheet. He said “When you are able to score five times with different scorers, it’s a consequence of everybody’s work. I am very happy with them.

“We keep pushing until the end and this is the mentality that we are working to build. We want to find a way to punish the opponents and keep pushing to the end. Building that mentality is very important to me.
