PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — The Dunlap Eagles softball team maintains the top of the conference standings with a big win over Metamora. The Redbirds (18-8) come out swinging early in the first inning with a well-hit single from Carra Craig, giving Metamora an early baserunner.

Dunlap (21-5) would halt them, however, with Annie Stigall topping it off with a diving catch to get the Eagles out of the first inning. Dunlap, however, got things heated up in the bottom of the first after Gabby Drake rakes one into left-center field, scoring three, giving the Eagles a 3-0 lead. The Eagles would add two more runs in the game, giving them a 7-0 win.

Others getting the win in softball were Normal West, 3-0 over East Peoria, and Illini Bluffs, 13-1 over Limestone. Other winners from Saturday include Metamora with a 5-2 win over Champaign Central in baseball, and Dunlap with a 19-6 win over Mionooka in girls lacrosse. Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
