Beavers lose 11th in a row, get swept by Concordia-St. Paul

May 2—SAINT PAUL — With the season soon coming to a close, the Bemidji State softball team will have to wait until the season finale to get its final win. In a doubleheader against Concordia-St. Paul, the Beavers got swept by the Golden Bears 7-0 in Game 1 and 12-4 in Game 2.

It is their 10th and 11th loss in a row. A four-run second inning and a three-run fourth inning gave the Golden Bears their seven runs in Game 1. BSU pitcher Sydney Klusman gave up seven runs on nine hits, while the offense only conjured up two hits.

Bemidji State jumped out to a two run lead in the first inning in Game 2, with Lauen Beissel scoring two on an RBI single. CSP would respond right away in the bottom of the first, scoring six to take a 6-2 lead. Starter Keira Lucero would only survive 1/3 of an inning, giving up four earned runs off of three hits.

BSU would score two more runs in the fourth inning in the 12-4 loss. The Beavers' (10-41) season comes to a close in St. Cloud on Sunday in a doubleheader with the Huskies.
