Beavers break program steals record in season finale
May 2—SAINT PAUL — Despite losing the regular season finale, the Bemidji State baseball team broke another program record against Concordia-St. Paul. The Beavers stole four bases in their 11-8 loss in the season finale.
They ended the season with 85 steals, beating a previous team record of 82 set in 1989. This comes after Noah Drusch set a single season home run record the day previously. BSU and CSP traded leads until the seventh inning.
Tied 8-8, the Golden Bears scored three runs off Beavers pitcher Beau Barry in the seventh inning to secure their 11-8 win. Matt Filippi was Bemidji State's best hitter, going 2 for 4 with two RBIs and a walk. Nash Rubins went 1 for 4 with two RBIs and three stolen bases.
