Gonzalez spoke to the media during a charity softball event hosted by Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Devonta Smith. He did not get into specifics about what Vrabel said to the team when he addressed them, but noted that he is in full support of Vrabel. โWe arenโt going to speak on what we talked about inside the building, but that's my coach," Gonzalez told the media on Saturday.
"That's who I go out there and play for. Heโs proven what he can do as a coach. Thatโs my guy, and I ride behind Vrabes any time of the day.
" Gonzalez's statement echoes what other Patriots players have said in recent weeks. This was the first time Gonzalez spoke on the scandal publicly. The entire situation has become somewhat of a distraction for the Patriots, but Mike Vrabel has noted that he is committed to being the best version of himself for the team moving forward.
Vrabel also noted that his No. 1 priority is his family. He missed Day 3 of the NFL Draft to attend counseling, and also noted that he was unsure if he would miss other football activities.
