William Schmidt got the start on the mound today as LSU baseball looked to get back in the win column against a conference opponent. Schmidt shoved the Gamecocks into a locker, finishing the game after six full innings of work. He only allowed one run on five hits, seven strikeouts, and one walk.

Grant Fontenot entered to pitch for the seventh, eighth, and ninth innings, and he did not allow any runs as he slammed the door on South Carolina.
