Is Caitlin Clark playing today? Indiana Fever injury update vs. Nigeria
An update on Caitlin Clark's status and a look at the full Indiana Fever injury report vs. Nigeria.
After an injury scare in the third quarter of Indiana's April 30 WNBA preseason game that saw Caitlin Clark laboring after a hard foul on a 3-point attempt, the Fever have officially made their ruling on whether the former Hawkeye will play during the team's exhibition matchup tonight against the Nigerian National Team. When asked in her postgame media availability about the incident, Clark said she felt fine after the collision . Clark also praised the officials for their handling of the situation.
"I feel good. I just landed on my kneecap really hard," Clark said. "I know there's a committee of people that really wanted them (the refs) to start calling things, and I thought they did a great job of that.
Honestly, I thought the refs were great, and it's preseason, so you're probably going to see more fouls called. I expect that number to drop. But I think overall, it's going to improve the product.
" Fever head coach Stephanie White said the organization had planned to sub Clark out early in the third quarter anyways. "We had planned for her to come out about that time anyway," Fever coach Stephanie White commented. "It was just an extra precaution getting her out in that moment, but the plan was for her to start the third quarter and then get her out quickly.
