Four runs in the top of the first — three on two passed balls — put Tenino (7-11) in the driver's seat for a win.
It added five runs apiece in the second and third, the big hit was a two-run single by Kylie Gonia in the third. Gonia finished 4-for-4 while Preslee Fisher added two hits for the Beavers. Even with Castle Rock plating three in the second and the fourth frames and having three errors, Tenino never lost the lead.
"We're able to stop the bleeding which usually doesn't happen for us," Beavers head coach Chris Johnson said. "We're playing better defense than we've been playing in a long time. Overall I am really happy with how we're playing and getting ready to make that district push.
" Tenino will take on fellow South Thurston County rival Rainier on Tuesday.
