The 2026 MLB season has featured plenty of interesting storylines already, but for the Los Angeles Angels , the biggest story has been the resurgence of Mike Trout.

Despite sharing the worst record in the American League with the Houston Astros , the Angels have seen their future Hall of Famer come roaring back to stardom. Amid such a strong season so far, one MLB executive shared a bold prediction with MLB. com's Mark Feinsand , as they predicted Trout could be dealt at the trade deadline, which is a "hot take" that will probably not come true.

'" The Angels trading away Trout is incredibly unlikely. As much as a team would love to acquire Trout, the odds of a trade are incredibly small, if not zero. This executive, one of 20 polled by Feinsand, predicted Trout would be the biggest name moved at the deadline this year.
