The first half went about as well as you’d expect from the Bavarians, being down at the break as is the case for three of the past four Bundesliga matches. The surprise came in the second half where Vincent Kompany threw on the A-Team and somehow still struggled, even going down 3-2 with 10 minutes to go. Yes, the Rekordmeister got lucky with the draw, but the stats prove otherwise: Match stats pic.
twitter. com/b0v76vfETl — Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) May 2, 2026 At first glance, you’d think that Bayern had Heidenheim’s number or at least managed to eke out a narrow win over the side bottom of the table. It’s not a great precedent heading into Bayern’s biggest match of the season yet: the second leg of the Champions Leagues semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain.
The Parisians hold a one goal lead from that crazy 5-4 win. Bayern must win by at least two goals to advance to the final.
