Michigan football secures Top 100 in-state commit Jakari Lipsey

Michigan football coach Kyle Whittingham secured his first in-state recruit, four-star offensive tackle Jakari Lipsey.

Kyle Whittingham made it a point when he was hired to shepherd the Michigan football program that he plans to recruit heavily in-state. Though he inherited one player from Michigan, three-star interior offensive lineman Louis Esposito from Saline, thus far, he has taken players from all around the country. But on Saturday, Whittingham secured his first in-state prospect, and it's a big one.

Ranked No. 66 overall by 247Sports, 2027 Kalamazoo (Mich. ) Loy Norrix four-star offensive tackle Jakari Lipsey is a recruit who's got some big-time offers.

Though he was looking mostly regionally -- at Wisconsin and Minnesota -- LSU was thoroughly in the mix. However, on Saturday, he pledged his commitment to the maize and blue.
