The legendary WWE run of the New Day — Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods — unexpectedly came to an end this weekend. Over the last 12 years, the New Day has built a reputation as one of the greatest teams in WWE history. Along with Big E, Kingston, and Woods won WWE tag team gold 12 times, including a then-record 483 reign as champions.
They even had massive singles success while still together when Kingston and Big E won world championships. However, that era is officially over. According to reports from Fightful and BodySlam.
net , both Kingston and Woods have “mutually decided to part ways with WWE. ” That would suggest that neither man’s contract had ended, and they may have both requested their releases from the company where they became future Hall of Famers. Over the last few years, the duo has not had the same level of relevance, and outside of a turn to the dark side and their 12th title run last year, the move by both sides makes sense.
