Winslow Townson-Imagn Images BOSTON – It’s over. The Boston Bruins ’ 2025-26 campaign has come to a close. Getting to the playoffs was not something many people had the Bruins doing, but the playoffs came to a disappointing close.

After the game, a Bruins defenseman revealed the injury he was playing through. The Boston Bruins were not the only team in the organization to lose a playoff game last night. The Sabres were not the only team to advance to the second round, either, and elsewhere around the league, the Lightning forced a Game 7 against Montreal.

All but one matchup has been determined in the second round, and that will not be decided until tomorrow night. The Devils’ new GM has started to make front office moves, and the finalists for the Jack Adams Award were revealed yesterday – no… Marco Sturm is not on there. And the second round opens tonight at 8:00 PM (the Celtics play Game 7 at 7:30 PM).

David Pastrnak scored the lone Bruins’ goal, coming at 1:54 of the second period, and Charlie McAvoy got tossed for a game after slashing Zach Benson , who took McAvoy down with a slewfoot. It is Buffalo’s first series win since 2007.
