NFL scouts see Oregon's Dante Moore as top QB in 2027 draft class
According to an anonymous poll of NFL scouts, Oregon Ducks QB Dante Moore is viewed as the top passer in the 2027 draft class.
We are a little less than a year away from the 2027 NFL Draft, but on the heels of the 2026 draft last weekend, it is never too early to talk about the future QB class. It's often hard to project who the top passers will be a year from now. Case in point, guys like Cade Klubnik, Drew Allar, and Garrett Nussmeier were projected to be first-round picks in the 2026 draft when we were looking a year in advance after 2025's class had been called.
But when forecasting what the 2027 QB class will look like, it's clear that there's a small group of guys who are projected to be at the top: Oregon Ducks' Dante Moore, Texas Longhorns ' Arch Manning, and Ohio State's Julian Sayin. While Manning may have the name value, it appears that NFL scouts are highest on Moore going into next year. After the 2026 draft, ESPN held an anonymous poll of 10 NFL scouts and asked them to rank the top QBs in the class.
It was Moore who came out on top over Manning and Sayin. Here's how the rankings shook out, with a first-place vote counting for three points, a second-place vote counting for two points, and a third-place vote counting for one: Dante Moore (24) Arch Manning (16) Julian Sayin (5) Brendan Sorsby (5) LaNorris Sellers (3) Drew Mestemaker (2) Sam Leavitt (2) CJ Carr (2) Darian Mensah (1) Of course, there is still a ton of tape to watch on these guys as we get closer to their actual draft date, and a whole year of production yet to evaluate. But early on, it's clear that Moore is among the top players in the class and should be right in the thick of it to potentially be the No.
