In 2025, Louisville reached a high of 65 degrees on Derby day, with historical data showing Louisville saw a high of 83 degrees on Derby day in 2024.

NWS predicts May 2 temperatures will reach a high near 56 degrees, with a low around 38 degrees. Temperatures are likely to drop significantly by the post time of the race, which is scheduled for 6:57 p. m.
