Polson baseball stymies Frenchtown offense
POLSON — Paxson DuMont hit a go-ahead single in the bottom of the sixth as Polson grabbed a 3-1 victory over Frenchtown in high school baseball Friday. DuMont scored Holden Emerson on the hit — Emerson reached on an error that helped Polson (8-5) tie the game at one earlier in the inning. Frenchtown (12-2) took a 1-0 lead in the third as Jordan Warner came in on an error.
Cole Wadsworth shut the Broncs down otherwise. He went all seven innings, allowing five hits and fanning five. Dawson Rodoni also threw a complete game for Frenchtown, striking out 10 batters and allowing five hits.
Polson added an insurance run in the sixth as Noah Agliano scored on an error. Columbia Falls 10, Noxon 0 NOXON — Zeke Dunn threw five no-hit innings and drove in a pair of runs at the plate to lead Columbia Falls. The Wildcats (9-3) broke the game open in the third, plating six runs.
Tristian Victor highlighted the big frame with a two-run double to center field that scored Lincoln Fisher and Nico Young to make it 7-0. Dunn added another run in the fourth on a double to left to bring Jace Hill home. Dunn finished with eight strikeouts while issuing five free passes.
Michael Koskela went four innings for the Red Devils (0-9), striking out three. The game ended after five innings due to the run rule. Libby 14, Eureka 12 EUREKA — Ian Thom drove in three runs and Libby held off a late Eureka rally to win a Kootenai Valley showdown.
