ESPN analyst claims 2026 could be Dabo's final season

Yahoo Sports

ESPN's Josh Pate believes that Clemson's win/loss projections this season puts Dabo on the hot seat

Dabo Swinney is the winningest coach in both Clemson history and ACC history. He’s won nine ACC championships and two national championships. Statistically speaking, a college football playoff appearance (7 out of 17 seasons, 41% of his career) is more likely than Klay Thompson making a three pointer (40.

9% in his career). However, coach Swinney is now eight years removed from his last title, and is coming off one of the worst seasons of his career, going 7-6. Analyst Josh Pate called this season a “last stand moment” for Swinney, stating; "What if they win eight games?

What if Clemson goes 8-4? Is that a successful season? Have we really gotten to the point where the over could hit for the Clemson win total, and people (would) still be disappointed to the point where they want change?

I think we have. " Clemson’s win total is set at 7. 5 on Fanduel, the lowest for Swinney since his first season.
