Wisconsin’s class of 2027 puts Luke Fickell concerns to rest
All things considered, Luke Fickell hasn't exactly been a fan favorite in Madison. The Wisconsin Badgers football program has a rich history. It's not one that comes with a slew of National Championships, but fans sure wish they could go back to the Rose Bowl days after Fickell's squad failed to qualify for a bowl game each of the last two seasons.
Fickell was one of the most highly sought-after coaches on the market when Wisconsin landed him, but he's gone just 17-20 since being named head coach. Now, things are looking much brighter . Wisconsin is nearing a top 10 recruiting class of 2027 thanks to a stellar week from Fickell and his staff.
The Badgers seemingly haven't missed on recruiting the top in-state players, and this class should help put Fickell's hecklers to rest. While these players need to be properly coached and aren't all guaranteed to be superstars, this is still a massive step in the right direction. After being on the hot seat for quite some time, Wisconsin's new athletic director still has their own decision to make, but a fantastic incoming set of recruits makes that decision even more intriguing.
