Wisconsin men's basketball fails to land prized Alabama guard
While the Wisconsin Badgers may have been linked to Alabama guard Davion Hannah, the 6-foot-6 guard chose South Carolina as his new home. Hannah, a Milwaukee native, was recruited by the Badgers coming out of high school. Fresh off his freshman campaign with the Crimson Tide, Greg Gard wasn't able to pull the trigger and bring him back to his home state.

Even though Hannah has experience playing AAU with Zach Kinzginer, someone the Badgers know will be returning for the 2026-27 season, he'll look to stick it to an Alabama team that had him averaging just 12. 7 minutes per game. There still is a big unknown with Hannah as he played just 10 games last year due to tailbone and back issues.
Gard is as poised as it gets, so it's clear he's content with the tremendous work he's done in the portal thus far. At the end of the day, bringing in another guard wasn't super high on Wisconsin's priority list. Sure, it would've been nice to see Hannah play for the Badgers, but he's still extremely young, and that door is still open for his junior or senior seasons.
