If a quarterback has one or more elite, play-making wide receivers, that offense can take off into the stratosphere and create highlight reel plays week after week.
For the Kentucky Wildcats , they’ve already made several big moves in their class of 2027 recruiting, including a commitment from high 4-star quarterback Jake Nawrot. Now, Kentucky is looking to find him a big-time pass-catching prospect, which could come very soon in the form of wide receiver Iveon Lewis. Lewis was supposed to announce his commitment on July 1st, but now he’s set to do so next weekend on May 9th.
In addition, On3 recruiting experts Steve Wiltfong, Sam Spiegelman, and Chad Simmons have all logged predictions for Kentucky to land Lewis. A 4-star prospect from Richmond (VA), Lewis is the No. 5 overall prospect in Virginia and the 238th-best prospect in the 2027 class, according to Rivals.
He’s a streaky, big-play receiver who could be the perfect complement to Nawrot in what will be the first full recruiting cycle for Will Stein as head coach of the Wildcats. In three seasons of high school football, Lewis has 113 receptions for 2,782 yards and 36 touchdowns. That’s an average of 24.
