But, it's been made more than clear this season that some new arrivals are needed, especially if they want to be competing for the Premier League and Champions League titles. And, since the summer transfer window is now just around the corner, Liverpool need to figure out their priorities and whether it's worth spending big one one player or signing two or three less expensive players instead. Liverpool may no longer be going for Elliott Anderson or Adam Wharton Elliott Anderson and Adam Wharton have both been linked with Anfield switches this season.

The duo are two of England's most sought-after midfielders with both of them managing to prove their worth in more ways than one. Wharton is the one who has been the most long-linked with a transfer and, when it seemed like Nottingham Forest were going to be relegated, Anderson's name also popped up as a potential target . However, journalist Bence Bocsak has claimed that there's still a "question mark" surrounding the potential transfer of either player.

"I think the big sort of question mark for me is the price tag,” he said on the Anfield Watch Podcast . “[Elliott] Anderson and [Adam] Wharton are probably going to cost you around £100 million or even more potentially for Wharton. “I don’t know, it just looks like they’ll be a hefty price tag on both of them and Liverpool spent a lot of money last summer.
