This marked the most amount of goals scored in a single at this stage of the competition in its’ entire history, so of course the forwards became the protagonists of the match. The likes of Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembélé, Michael Olise, Luis Díaz and Harry Kane all brought their A-Game and transformed the match into a classic. In the aftermath of the match, English pundit Alan Shearer was asked about a transfer rumor involving English player Anthony Gordon moving to Bayern.

To put it simply, he did not see a point in the move: “He wouldn’t get in this team,” he said, as captured by @iMiaSanMia . Of course, a recent spat Shearer had with Gordon himself may have had something to do with it. Shearer and fellow pundit Wayne Rooney criticized the Newcastle United player for not starting in his team’s league match and Gordon hit back, saying “they need to do better at what they are doing.

” So perhaps this is just spite talking and not an assessment of the quality of Bayern’s superb attack. Either is possible, though.
