TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – The Jayhawks are looking to bounce back after Game 1. Kansas softball (33-17, 13-9 Big 12) suffered a setback on Friday, losing Game 1 of its final regular season series to No. 13 Oklahoma State (36-13, 15-7 Big 12) 8-1.
After a scoreless three innings, the Cowgirls plated four runs in the fourth thanks to two base hits. Oklahoma State followed up with two home runs in the fifth to lead 6-0. Kansas would get on the scoreboard in the sixth thanks to a double from Anna Soles, which brought in Kadence Stafford for the Jayhawks lone score of the game.
The Cowgirls would hit two more home runs in the sixth to take Game 1, 8-1. KU was out-hit 7-5 in the loss. Chloe Barber took the loss inside the circle for the Jayhawks.
