Ghost Pirates swept out of first-ever playoff appearance
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) โ The Savannah Ghost Pirates were swept out of the first round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs by the Florida Everblades on Friday at Enmarket Arena. Savannah, making its first playoff appearance in franchise history, fell 5-2 to Florida in Game 4 of the Division Semifinals.
Neither team tallied a goal in the opening 18 minutes of play, but in the second period, Florida scored twice to take a 2-0 lead. In the third period, the Everblades lit the lamp two more times for a commanding 4-0 lead in the final period before Savannah responded. The Ghost Pirates netted two goals in 39 seconds to cut their deficit in half, but a Florida empty-net goal sealed Savannahโs fate.
โIt was a great experience for us,โ said Ghost Pirates head coach Jared Staal. โ[Florida] has a ton of experience over there, and you canโt make that up. โ Ghost Pirates forward Logan Drevitch has been a member of the team all four seasons.
โMaking the playoffs was the standard here,โ said Drevitch. โWe came up short tonight, but we canโt hang our heads. โ Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
