Still plenty of respect between FC Bayern and PSG despite the result

His goal came off a long pass from Harry Kane, which Díaz controlled beautifully before bamboozling PSG captain Marquinhos to get a clear shot on goal.

Speaking after the match, the 31-year-old Brazilian defender had to applaud the Colombian winger. “He’s a champion. I’ve been watching him since his time at Liverpool and also with Colombia”, Marquinhos said to ESPN Colombia (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia ).

“He’s very difficult to mark 1v1 and playing with a yellow card from the first half makes it even more complicated. I had to play the whole match under pressure. Defending a player like that, who constantly looks for 1v1 situations, is very difficult.

” It wouldn’t be the first time that Marquinhos will be having nightmares of Díaz. In the league phase match between Bayern and PSG, where Lucho scored two goals, Marquinhos failed to stop the ball on the line for the first goal and was haplessly dispossessed outside his box by Díaz in the build-up which led to the second goal.
