Sean Brady: Joaquin Buckley's work with Kamaru Usman won't help at UFC 328
Sean Brady is unconvinced that Joaquin Buckley training with Kamaru Usman will benefit him in their UFC 328 fight.
Sean Brady is not expecting Joaquin Buckley to have the right answers to his grappling game at UFC 328 , despite training with former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman. Usman defeated Buckley (22-7 MMA, 11-5 UFC) by unanimous decision in his most recent octagon appearance in June. The pair teamed up ahead of the May 9 showdown with Brady (18-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) at Prudential Center in Newark, N.
J. ( Paramount+ ). Although it's a seemingly positive move for Buckley to put ego aside and train with the man who just beat him with a takedown-heavy strategy, Brady said he sees himself as a different problem.
"I don't think it's going to help him at all," Brady told MMA Junkie. "Anyone with a brain can look and say there's a blueprint (from the loss to Usman), but I'm sure Buckley is looking at me and saying the same thing in his mind. My only two losses have been TKOs.
Got TKO'd by Belal (Muhammad), got caught early against (Michael) Morales, so he's probably thinking the same thing that I'm thinking. He's going to try to keep it on the feet, and I'm going to try to take him down. "I just think I'm a way better overall fighter than he is.
