During his rookie minicamp press conference, Kansas City Chiefs DB Mansoor Delane discussed his potential role in his rookie season | @EdEastonJr

Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Mansoor Delane spoke with reporters at Friday's press conference ahead of this weekend's rookie minicamp. He revealed thoughts on putting on a Chiefs practice uniform for the first time and his potential role in the upcoming season. "It's great.

(I) just to actually get to play football now and do what I do," said Delane, sharing his excitement for the first time at the team facility. "So, it feels good just getting back to doing what I do. " Delane led LSU with 11 pass breakups while starting 11 games, finishing with 45 tackles and 2 interceptions.

He is often speculated to step into the role left by Trent McDuffie in 2026, but he's expressed the ability to play any position for defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. "(LSU Defensive Coordinator) Coach (Blake) Baker's defense, it was multiple defense(s). I got to do everything," said Delane.

"I think that ultimately led me to be in the position I am right now, and just similar to kind of (Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo) Spags defense, you know, we play everything. A lot of NFL defenses, they may do one type of thing, but we play every type of coverage. " The LSU standout was a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation's top defensive back.
