A.J. Brown Linked to Surprising NFL Team Amid New England Patriots Trade Rumors

Yahoo Sports

Geoff Burke-Imagn Images A. J. Brown has been the most popular NFL player in trade rumors this offseason.

With the Philadelphia Eagles loading up at wide receiver, Brown is likely to be traded after June 1, with the New England Patriots as the logical destination. However, could another shocking NFL team enter the equation for the Philadelphia superstar? The Kansas City Chiefs were mentioned as a potential suitor for Brown in a recent article by Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox .

The writer pointed toward the possibility of another Super Bowl-caliber organization swooping in with one month until June 1. In this case, the Chiefs were the only team mentioned alongside the Patriots. As of now, the Chiefs have Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy leading their wide receiver room.

Travis Kelce is back in the mix as the starting tight end, while Kansas City landed star running back Kenneth Walker from free agency. Still, the Chiefs could use another wide receiver, as the room struggled to produce during the 2026-27 NFL season. Kansas City would likely have to trade a 2028 first-round pick and a mid-round pick or player.

New England’s proposed trade is very similar, with wide receiver Kayshon Boutte frequently mentioned as part of the package. After all, Boutte wouldn’t be a fit with Brown, Romeo Doubs , and the rest of the wide receiver room. The Chiefs would benefit from adding a bona fide WR1 to the room, taking some of the pressure off Rice.
