FSU's top quarterback target commits elsewhere
The FSU Seminoles have been recruiting Wondermonds for years, but the four-star quarterback has committed to Notre Dame.
The Florida State Seminoles have missed on their top quarterback target. Four-star quarterback Wonderful 'Champ' Monds IV committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Friday, picking them over the Seminoles and Ohio State Buckeyes , who already have a quarterback committed in their 2027 recruiting class. He announced the news live on The Pat McAfee Show.
While it was expected, it is still a major blow to FSU's recruiting class, which currently has just six commits . The Seminoles have been recruiting Monds since June 12, 2024, when they offered him a scholarship as a freshman. They were the first major school to offer him, with Notre Dame not extending him one until Jan.
